The University of Dodoma (UDOM) Academic Staff Association (UDOMASA) was established in 2007 under Rule 67 of the University of Dodoma Charter and reaffirmed under para of the preammble to the UDOMASA Constitution (2019ed). The association aims to mobilise the academic staff members to work together to accomplish the mission and vision of the University of Dodoma. Corollarly, UDOMASA was established to ensure that matters related to the general welfare of its members are not compromised. We UDOMASA do understand that the University is a centre where knowledge is searched for, produced, applied and disseminated. UDOMASA values include, the desire for solidarity, togetherness, fraternity, concord and justice amongst ourselves and other members of the UDOM community. Knowing that those values are essential in building a strong academic society that is founded on individual and collective commitment, transparency, ethical standards adherence, democratic participation in decision making and accountability. Believing that our academic and professional interests and those of the whole community can best be achieved through love, togetherness, and mutual understanding amongst us, our employer and other members of the community. Realizing that the best way of having a strong voice for employees and for inculcation of mutual understanding is through having a common forum for discussion and free room to air our views. UDOMASA is a team of highly professional and knowledgeable individuals, who, through their hard work, passion, dedication and perceptiveness, continuously propel the University forward. In that case, I believe that we as academic staff, being key stakeholders of this Intitution are charged with the great task of fulfilling our academic and social responsibilities. To ensure the provision of quality education here at UDOM and Tanzania in general, UDOMASA advises and works closely with the University management, other members of staff, and the government about their responsibilities. We members of UDOMASA will continue to work as hard as we possibly can, while competing with each other towards further professional development, with the view of producing the best graduates who can compete in the global job market. UDOMASA ensures and will continue to ensure that there is good communication between the University management and the academic members of staff for the betterment of our institution. Also, UDOMASA will fully cooperate with other Academic Staff Associations of other universities and Constituent Colleges in the country under ASAPUT in the best interests of quality education and welfare of members of academic staff.
