About Us
Our History

Establishment of the University of Dodoma Academic Staff Association (UDOMASA) UDOMASA was established under the Rule No. 67 of the University of Dodoma Charter and Rules of 2007. The headquarters of the Association is at The University of Dodoma. The association is dedicated to promoting excellence in Teaching and learning, Research, Consultancy, community services and standing for academic welfare. Over time, the Association has experienced significant growth in aspects of its activities, as evidenced by its annual increasing in number of memberships which has grown from arround 50 in 2007 to about 750 members December 2021.

Provision of quality services to our academic and professional interests and those of the whole community to be achieved through love, togetherness and mutual understanding amongst academic staff ourselves, and the entire university community.

Our Vission

The best association in the country with the best way of having a strong voice for academic staff and for inculcating a mutual understanding through the common forum for a discussion and free room to our members views.

Our Goal

has always been To act with high level of integrity, and intelligibility in matters related to the quality of knowledge produced at UDOM and the welfare of academic staff

Key UDOMASA’s Responsibilities

a. To stimulate and promote discussions on matters of academic interest.

b. To promote educational and social activities for the benefit of the academic staff of The University of Dodoma.

c. To support and promote the basic principles relating to academic freedom and social responsibility of the academicians.

d. Support and promote the desire for undertaking research activities and publication of research findings, especially amongst junior academic members.

e. To organize/sponsor social functions for the purposes to enrich the intellectual and cultural development of The University of Dodoma.

f. To discuss any other matter relating to the general welfare of the academic members of staff of The University of Dodoma.

g. To cooperate with other organs of the University of Dodoma on matters of general interest to The University of Dodoma Community.

h. To provide a forum by which the Association may foster discipline, ethical and professional values amongst its members.

i. To provide a forum by which the members may discuss and make collective resolutions for recommendations to any appropriate authority in such important matters affecting the common interests of the members and The University of Dodoma as a whole.

j. To promote and maintain tranquillity, transparency, democracy and co-operation between members and The University of Dodoma at large;

k. To initiate investment programs for the purpose of raising funds to promote various social and academic welfare of the members through the Association;

l. To cooperate with associations of Academic Staff from other Universities and University Colleges in Tanzania to pursue matters of common interest as the need may arise;

m. To deliberate on any other issue for the interest of the Association.
